Salty and sweet; these Chocolate Covered Pretzels are everything you need during a movie night in one bite.
Big shout out to our Patron Jessica for this wonderful idea. We were in search of delicious vegan movie night snacks and she suggested these delicious beauties and boy are we glad she did. It’s a simple recipe, but sometimes the simplest of recipes are the best recipes.
Movie nights require snacks. Whether it’s popcorn or chips or chocolate covered pretzels – movies require snacks. That’s why movie theatres can rely on most of their sales coming from concessions, because movies need snacks.
This recipe requires only 3 ingredients. Everything else is optional. That’s the beauty of this recipe. You get a delicious snack that comes together super quickly and with less than a handful of ingredients. All you need is pretzels, dark chocolate and coconut oil. Yep, that’s it. Simplicity is key when you’re hungry and looking for a snack.
Crunchy, salty pretzels dipped in dark chocolate and topped with your favourite flavour boosters. We opted for sprinkles, chopped nuts and coconut! These toppings perfectly complimented the saltiness of the pretzels and the richness of the dark chocolate. Of course there are a ton of other delicious vegan topping options to choose from as well. This is the time for creativity to shine.

Chocolate Covered Pretzels
- 150 g (3/4 cup) dark chocolate
- 30 mL (2 tbsp) coconut oil
- 200 g (2 cups) pretzels
- assorted toppings, coconut, nuts, sprinkles, etc
- Melt chocolate and coconut oil over a double-boiler.
- One by one dip the pretzels in the melted chocolate and place on a lined baking sheet. It's at this point you can sprinkle on a topping if you'd like to. Repeat until all the chocolate is gone.
- Place in the fridge until the chocolate has solidified.
