Let’s warm up this winter with a delicious warm Blueberry Hot Toddy. Seriously we are in love with this drink. We cannot believe we didn’t make it earlier. Imagine your in your favourite sweater, drapped in a blanket, and watching a movie while cuddled up on the couch. That scene is nearly perfect, the only thing missing is a warm drink in your hand. Enter our Blueberry Hot Toddy.
For this classic cocktail all you need is some water, fresh or frozen blueberries, whisky, vegan honey or another sweetener of your choice, lemon juice, and the final touch – a cinnamon stick. Stirred together on the stove until you get this delicious infusion of flavours.
The perfect cocktail to end your New Year’s Eve night – or perhaps set up a Hot Toddy bar at your holiday party this year. Guests will love the warmth after coming in from the cold winter night. We’re excited to try it out with a variety of different berries, but for now this Blueberry Hot Toddy is one of our favourite drinks of the year.
Blueberry Hot Toddy
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup blueberries
- 1 oz whiskey
- 3 tsp vegan honey
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- To a food processor or blender add the water and blueberries and process until smooth. Filter the pureed fruit through a sieve to remove any final chucks that didn't blend.
- Add all the ingredients to a small pot on the stove and stir on medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and serve, be sure to remove the cinnamon stick before serving. Top with some blueberries and lemon slices.
