5-Minute Fire Roasted Salsa

So just how easy is this recipe? With only 7 ingredients and 5 minutes you can have a delicious restaurant-style salsa. The key ingredient to giving this simple dip it’s awesome flavour is having a can of fire roasted tomatoes on hand. It gives it a great flavour bump without having to buy any different ingredients. You can absolutely use regular diced tomatoes for this recipe, just know that the flavour is going to differ.

So what do you need for the best Fire Roasted Salsa?

  • a can of fire roasted tomatoes
  • garlic, red onion, cilantro, and lime
  • jalapeno… duh
  • 5 minutes of your time
  • pinch of salt

We know, it’s that easy. For this recipe we used our mini food processor, but you could also use a blender or a pestle and mortar. Looking for a smooth salsa? Blend it until you get your desired consistency. Keep in mind if you like chunkier salsa you should only pulse it very quickly. As it can change textures VERY quickly, pulsing helps you maintain more control of the consistency.

Ingredients

  • 1 can fire roasted tomatoes
  • 3 cloves (20 g) garlic
  • 1/2 (100 g) red onion
  • 1/4 cup (10 g) cilantro
  • 1 (40 g) jalapeno
  • 1/2 lime juiced
  • charcoal salt to taste

Instructions

  • To a food processor pulse together garlic, red onion, cilantro and jalapeno until finely diced.
  • Drain tomatoes and add to food processor with lime juice and process until desired consistency. Add salt until you get your desired taste - about a pinch or two should do.
